IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS INSTRUCTIONS PERTAINING TO A RISK OF FIRE, ELECTRIC SHOCK, OR INJURY TO PERSONS WARNING:

The following precautions must be taken to reduce the risk of injury or death:

When using this unit, basic precautions should be followed, including; READ AND FOLLOW ALL INSTRUCTIONS DANGER: To reduce the risk of injury, DO NOT permit children to use this unit unless they are closely supervised by an adult AT ALL TIMES. Supervision is also required when whirlpool bath is used by an elderly or a handicapped individual. Use this unit only for its intended use as described in this manual. Do not use attachments that are not recommended by the manufacturer. Never drop or insert any object into any opening. DO NOT OPERATE this unit without the guard over the suction fitting. The unit must be connected only to a supply circuit that is protected by a Class A Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI). Such a GFCI should be provided by the installer and should be tested on a routine basis. To test the GFCI, push the test button. The GFCI should interrupt power. Push the reset button. Power should be restored. If the GFCI fails to operate in this manner, there is ground current flowing, indicating the possibility of an electric shock. DO NOT USE this unit. Disconnect the unit and have the problem corrected by a qualified licensed electrician before using. Electrical connection should be made by a licensed electrician. Optional electrical equipment, such as inline heater, must also be connected to a dedicated GFCI. A pressure wire connector is provided on the exterior of the terminal box within this unit to permit connection of a No. 8 AWG (8.4 mm2) solid copper bonding conductor between this unit and all other electrical equipment and exposed metal in the vicinity, as needed to comply with local requirements. The water in a whirlpool should never exceed 40° C (104° F). Water temperatures between 38° C (100° F) and 40° C (104° F) are considered safe for a healthy adult. Lower water temperatures are recommended for extended use (exceeding 10 – 15 minutes) or for young children. Since excessive water temperatures have a high potential for causing fetal damage during the early months of pregnancy, pregnant or possibly pregnant women should consult a physician before using. Before entering a whirlpool, measure the water temperature with an accurate thermometer since the tolerance of water temperature-regulating devices may vary as much as plus or minus 3° C (5° F). The use of alcohol, drugs, or medication before or during whirlpool use may lead to unconsciousness with the possibility of drowning. Persons suffering from obesity or with medical history of heart disease, low or high blood pressure, circulatory system problems, or diabetes should consult a physician before using a whirlpool. Persons using medication should consult a physician before using a whirlpool since medication may induce drowsiness while other medication may affect heart rate, blood pressure and circulation. Observe all state and local electrical and plumbing building codes. Do not operate electrical appliances, radios, etc. while in, or within five feet of the whirlpool. SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS

WARNING: The use of alcohol, drugs or medications can greatly increase the risk of fatal hypothermia

WARNING: Prolonged immersions in hotter water may induce hypothermia. Hypothermia occurs when the internal temperature of the body reaches a level several degrees above the normal body temperature of 98.6 degrees F. The symptoms of hypothermia include an increase in the internal temperature of the body, dizziness, lethargy, drowsiness, and fainting. The effects of hypothermia include (1) failure to perceive heat (2) failure to recognize the need to exit the whirlpool (3) Unawareness of impending hazard (4) fetal damage in pregnant women (5) physical inability to exit whirlpool (6) Unconsciousness resulting in the danger of drowning.
