Section 10 of the Whirlpool Tub, Combination Tub, Air Tub Owners Manual

Whirlpool Tub, Combination Tub, or Air Tub INLINE MAINTENANCE HEATER WIRING AND OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

The whirlpool tub heater is totally self-contained to insure trouble free operation. Once the whirlpool tub heater is wired, and the unions are tightened, operation is automatic. The whirlpool tub heater will maintain the temperature of the water in the whirlpool bathtub. As with all electrical devices, certain safety precautions should be taken during wiring and use. Please read and follow all these instructions carefully.

FEATURES OF THE Whirlpool Tub or Combination Tub INLINE HEATER

Hi-Limit: The whirlpool heater includes an exclusive “Smart Hi-Limit”. This Hi-limit will not “false trip” from hot tap water. It will only turn the heater off if the thermostat fails. To reset, simply press the red button located on the heater If the Hi-limit trips frequently, call the factory. Safety features: In addition to the thermostat and Hi-limit, the whirlpool heater is equipped with a built in pressure switch. This switch will not allow the heater to turn on if the pump is not running.

CAUTION: Before use of the pump and heater, test the GFCI for proper operation. The pump and heater should turn off when the GFCI “TEST” button is pushed. Note: the heater will only operate if the pump is running.

WARNING: Prolonged immersions in hotter water may induce hypothermia.

Hypothermia occurs when the internal temperature of the body reaches a level several degrees above the normal body temperature of 98.6 degrees F. The symptoms of hypothermia include an increase in the internal temperature of the body, dizziness, lethargy, drowsiness, and fainting. The effects of hypothermia include (1) failure to perceive heat (2) failure to recognize the need to exit the whirlpool (3) Unawareness of impending hazard (4) fetal damage in pregnant women (5) physical inability to exit whirlpool (6) Unconsciousness resulting in the danger of drowning.

WARNING: The use of alcohol, drugs, or medication can greatly increase the risk of fatal hypothermia
